Drilling

• Holes and tubes 1mm to 40mm diameter.
• We have recently installed a new CNC Machining Centre with outstanding capabilities including drilling both open and blind holes with wall thicknesses as thin as 0.5mm. Internal diameters as small as 1mm and external diameters to 10mm.

Milling

• We specialise in milling/recessing and rebating to customer specifications.

Sawing/cutting

• Clean cut from 5mm to 500mm square.

Polishing

• We specialise in polishing all filter glass materials to a very tight tolerance;
  • Diameter: +/-0.1mm (standard) / +/- 0.02mm (tight)
  • Height/width: +/- 0.1mm (standard) +/- 0.05mm (tight)
  • Thickness: +/-0.02mm
  • Surface qualities: 20/10, 40/20, 60/40, 80/50
  • Flatness: <2.5 lambda over 90% test area. Some bespoke flat work ¼ wave.
  • Parallelism: <3 arcmin
  • Optical flats: <0.25 lambda over 40mm
• We can re-polish customers free issue damaged/coated materials.

Grinding

• We grind squares, rectangles and circles or bespoke shapes, maintaining a UK industry leading tolerance of 0.02mm.

Edging

• We can produce circles from 3.5mm to 250mm diameter maintaining our very tight tolerances of 0.02mm.

Toughening

• Our toughening plant can toughen glass up to 150mm in dimension.

Laminating/cementing

• We can laminate to a military/medical standard.
